What Residency Looks Like III: Bees and Flowers
Sometimes residency looks like an outdoor snack break in the middle of a computerized exam to clear your mind and process the death of one of your clinic patients.
It is hard to lose a patient of any age, but the ones I most remember were the young, like a 5 year old who bled to death after a Tonsillectomy. I don't think they do them anymore which is a good thing.

ReplyDeleteOn the contrary, we get a couple each week for observation in the PICU, but we have more resources to stop bleeding if it happens.
